What to Know About Eric Lefkofsky and His Current Venture

Eric Lefkofsky is the founder and CEO of Tempus. He was born in September 1969 in Detroit, Michigan, United States. He is married and has three children. Eric graduated with honors from the University of Michigan. Later on he attended the University of Michigan Law School and received his Juris Doctor in 1993. Tempus, a technological company, was created in 2015 by Eric Lefkofsky. It helps physicians to provide personalized cancer care. Tempus is based in Chicago. It was created to assist in identifying cures for several illnesses.

They include cancer, depression, diabetes, COVID-19, and much more. The company partners with community healthcare systems and academic medical centers to arrange and combine clinical data. The de-identified data is used for research purposes. The company then sells the de-identified data to pharmaceuticals dealing with drug discovery. With the aid of Eric Lefkofsky, the company made the 2020 CNBC Disruptor 50 list and was ranked number 6. The company started providing a Polymerase Chain Reaction Test for COVID-19 in April. The test is offered through physicians. The test aimed to collect data on COVID-19 patients for a research project that will help doctors. 

According to Lefkofsky, the company’s Artificial Intelligence platform can help because procedures from different patients vary. Dr. Scott Gottlieb stated that Artificial Intelligence could help to solve several public health problems and improve the outcome. Tempus is partnering with health care providers and employers in states where restrictions are minimized. The aim is to support COVID-19 testing. According to Eric Lefkofsky, the company has raised more than $1 billion in capital funds to date. Mr. Lefkofsky established a private charitable foundation, Lefkofsky Family Foundation, in 2006. He is the chairman of the Board of Trustees of Chicago Steppenwolf Theatre Company. He also serves as a trustee of different institutions. They include Children’s Hospital of Chicago, The Art Institute of Chicago, and many more.
